A report generated by another system arrives without a letterhead. Dropping a logo onto every page turns it into something that looks like it came from your organisation, without opening a page layout tool or re-exporting from the source.
The image keeps its aspect ratio. You set the width as a share of the page, and the height follows, so the logo looks the same on every page whatever the page sizes in the document are.
For a logo in a page corner, 15 to 25 percent width at full opacity usually reads best. For a mark across the middle of the page, a lower opacity keeps the text underneath legible.
